About Us
Today pet owners enjoy the ability to pamper their pets in a most lavish way.  Our pets have charmed their way from the doghouse and the backyard into our homes, onto our beds and , more importantly into our hearts.  Pets have established themselves as family members.  They pose for family portraits, they get birthday and Christmas presents, they go to the spa for a massage, they eat a well-balanced diet and get exercised, they wear boots and rain gear, they get shampooed and groomed.  They even send their human companions Hallmark cards.

Isn't it heartbreaking that their lives are so short compared to ours?  When a pet dies at home or when it comes time to perform that final act of love for our companion, we are here to provide caring and dignified assistance.

It is our mission to assure that your devoted companion leaves this world in a manner suited to their lifetime of dedication and unconditional love given to you.

Pamela Hunt has worked in the death care industry for the past twelve years. In 1992 she graduated from Funeral Service Education at Humber College in Toronto and proceeded to obtain her Ontario Funeral Director's License. Prior to that Pam had received an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. Experienced as a licensed Funeral Director for humankind, she naturally brings the ability, expertise and empathy needed to assist grieving pet owners. "I don't just have a dog. I have developed a relationship with a Golden Retriever I named Harley. And, this relationship has been most significant in my life".

"I started Devotion because I was faced with the possibility of losing my Golden Boy, Harley, when he developed meningitis shortly after his first birthday. This was a heart wrenching experience and I wasn't completely satisfied with the options that were available to me. If I was feeling this way I knew that there must be other pet owners who felt the same. Luckily Harley made a full recovery. However, from that moment on I have focused on developing a service that would permit devoted pet owners to show their beloved companion the dignity and respect they have earned and deserve".

"My experience as a Death Care Professional has shown me that the death of a pet who has loved you unconditionally, always accepted your bad moods, bad hair days and that odd missed evening meal can have an impact equal to and in some instances greater than the death of a human companion. Our pets have that incredible ability to capture us, heart and soul; no questions asked and communicate with us on a level unattainable by human comparison."
